On My Way
Green on Green
The café at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

I would probably have made the joints narrower, allowing the tiles to form a more continuous surface. But here the grout joints seem to serve a different purpose.
Notice the grout colour. Rather than matching the dark green tiles, it seems to pick up the lighter, muted green of the ceiling. This makes the joints more visible, particularly the horizontal ones, but also connects the tiled wall to the rest of the room.
Would narrower joints have achieved the same effect without interrupting the vertical rhythm of the tiles? Perhaps. I am not sure.
What this tilework demonstrates is that grout is part of the architecture. Its colour need not come from the tile itself. Sometimes it comes from somewhere else in the room.
