INDIRECT METHOD — technique used in creating mosaics where the tesserae are initially set face-down on a temporary support.
The tesserae are arranged and adhered to a layer of adhesive, typically a clear plastic sheet or wax paper, which is placed on top of the design pattern. Once the tesserae are secured, the adhesive with the tesserae is flipped over and applied to the final permanent surface, such as a wall or floor, with the adhesive side down. The temporary support is then carefully removed, revealing the mosaic design. This method allows for greater precision and control in creating intricate mosaic patterns.
