Glossary of tiling terms

RENDER — mixture of cement, sand, and water that is applied to the external surfaces of buildings to create a smooth, protective, and aesthetically pleasing finish. It is commonly used to cover brickwork, concrete, or other surfaces to improve their appearance, provide weather resistance, and enhance durability.

Render can be applied in various thicknesses and can be finished in different ways, including textured, smooth, or painted finishes. It helps to protect the underlying structure from moisture, temperature changes, and other environmental factors. Render can also provide insulation and contribute to the overall thermal performance of the building.
