Glossary of tiling terms

VITRIFIED TILE — type of dense-bodied tile with extremely low porosity, commonly used in tiling projects.

Vitrified tiles are manufactured by incorporating elements like quartz, silica, and feldspar into clay. The addition of these components enhances the tile's density and reduces its absorbency to almost negligible levels. As a result, vitrified tiles exhibit excellent resistance to water, stains, and scratches.

These tiles are highly durable and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, making them a popular choice in the tiling industry.
