ZILLIJ  — A traditional Moorish (Moroccan) form of mosaic made up of specifically shaped pieces of highly glazed tiles that are arranged in complex designs. Each furmah (tile) is so precisely cut that the edges join perfectly. Once laid, a concrete mix is poured over the furmah to create a slab.
